Turkey: M6.2 Earthquake Strikes Istanbul and Surrounding Areas

A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck off the coast of Istanbul in the Sea of Marmara on Wednesday, April 23, shaking buildings and causing people to flee outside across the city. Shaking was also felt in other cities and provinces. According to the Istanbul Governor's office, 151 were injured jumping from high places due to panic but there are no reports of deaths or major structural damage.
